I liked Hope, Clayton and Wyatt and liked their story. Hope is the daughter of Silas, Coby and Lucy from the book Northern Exposure.Hope is a student that's working on becoming a pharmacist. She's taking classes and working part time until she graduates. She is the daughter of a polyamorous relationship with her mom, Lucy and 2 dads, Silas and Coby. She realized years before that what she really wants is a relationship like her parents have but is worried she'll never met the right man/men. She allows herself to get pushed in to the dating scene and had been dating John for a while and wasn't sure if he was her "one" (or one of her possible two). Unfortunately, as the story starts, Hope has just made the mistake of admitting her interest in a menage to John within earshot of some of his "friends" who then decide she's a slut and they (including John) decide to try to take advantage of her.Wyatt and Clayton have been best friends since they were kids. They went through some horrible times together and both have emotional scars. Wyatt has dealt with his issues but holding himself back from everyone and any possibility of emotions...except for Clayton and even then Wyatt hold himself back from truly being in a relationship with Clayton. Clayton is more emotional and loves Wyatt but lets himself be pushed away because he'll take whatever he can get from Wyatt. They've apparently tried to bring another person in to their "relationship" in the past but it hasn't worked out. Because of this, Wyatt is even more determined not to let anyone close..even is it's what both him and Clayton need.Hope's encounter with her boyfriend (soon to be ex) and his friends takes place in a bar. Luckily for Hope, 3 of the hands from her family's ranch are there (Wyatt, Clayton & Boone) and they save her before things go too far. While everything is being settled with the police afterwards, Hope comes to realize that she just might have found her men in the form of Clayton and Wyatt. Unfortunately, Wyatt isn't interested in anything and takes Clayton with him down that road. Hope plans to get them interested in her anyways but doesn't realize just how tough things will be. Wyatt is determined not to do anything with her because he wont get feelings involved. Clayton likes Hope a lot and is all for involving feelings but once again...Wyatt rules the roost. Hope does end up getting an in with them when Wyatt is sick and she goes to help Clayton nurse him back to health. Clayton and Hope become close that night but when Wyatt finds out he throws a fit and Hope is hurt by the rejection. At one point it seems like the guys might be willing to have sex (but just hold back the emotions) with Hope but then they find out about her extreme lack of experience and Wyatt decides they can't have sex with her either...although they do indulge in some fooling around that in the end just makes things worse.While Wyatt, Clayton and Hope are dancing around their possible relationship, Hope's family has some issues to deal with as the matriarch of the family, Vicki, (Hope's grandmother) has Alzheimers and it's getting noticeable. When the family finds out it impacts them all strongly. Even with her failing memory, Vicki does manage to impart some good wisdom. Unfortunately, it seems to fall on deaf ears as Wyatt doesn't learn from the advice. To be honest, although I liked the characters, I had a bit of an issue getting in to the relationship. I found it a bit confusing to keep up with them because between the 3 of them I think that they all had different thoughts and plans every time they turned around. It felt like none of them actually had their thoughts in the same place at any one time. Wyatt spent most of his time pushing others away (hurting them emotionally) and Clayton was trying to deal with his wanting both Hope and Wyatt, not knowing how to bring them together. Hope always wanted both of them but sometimes she did things I just didn't understand. Overall I had problems getting in to the relationship between the trio until towards the end of the story. I liked the way things turned out but wished Wyatt hadn't been such an idiot before he came around. Fortunately, things do get worked out and Hope, Clayton and Wyatt form their very own trio and start their HEA.This was a good story. I liked the characters and overall the story was good and even very good in some places.
